4- On scene treatment—medical links.
5- Treatment during transport and measurement of advanced life support.
6- Refer the patient to the emergency room where he/she will receive definitive attention. All in the smallest time possible, as in these cases, time is gold.

Moreover, the interior of the symbol is a staff and a snake that symbolize the branch of medicine. Its use of this insignia on ambulances indicates the requirements of the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica for Intermediate and Advanced Life Support.
